Video of the Day: 3/24/11: Johnny Sullivan – QB – Bettendorf Gold Hawks – Clinton, IA

March 24th, 2011

It’s not often that a youth football player makes it to the highlight video of the day but this one demands your attention.  Johnny Sullivan is a youth football quarterback.   There are 1,000′s of them in the United States playing on a given Saturday in the Fall.  So what makes Johnny special?  You have to watch the tape to see.  Johnny can put the ball anywhere he wants.  Through a basketball hoop from a distance,  into a bucket from 40 yards away.  He can knock a bottle off the wall from down the street.  He even hits targets while blindfolded.  It’s a sight to behold.  It’s either the best display of pinpoint accuracy with a football or professional style Hollywood cinematography.   Either way,  you will be highly entertained watching this amazing piece of video.   Click here to view Johnny Sullivan’s highlight video.

3/15/11: Video of the Day – Clevonne Davis – OL – 2012 – Miramar H.S., FL

March 15th, 2011

There are offensive linemen that block and there are offensive linemen that block and do a little extra.  That extra is what gets the whole line going, gets the whole offense going and keeps things rolling in favor of their team.  Clevonne Davis brings that “extra”.  Davis will block you and do it with an attitude.  From the first snap you realize that you better have on a suit because this is going to be about business.  His intensity and desire to eliminate the defender makes an impression on you. He goes about his work like he genuinely does not like anyone wearing a different color and that very well may be true.  If he doesn’t really hate you then the kid has a career in acting when the playing days are over.  Not many people get excited about watching offensive line highlights but you will enjoy watching this one.  If you like watching car wrecks, wrecking balls knocking down buildings or national geographic when one animal is taking out another then something about this film will appeal to you.  Click here to view Clevonne Davis’ highlight video.

3/10/11 – Video of the Day – Jordan Cunningham – WR – 2013 – University School, Florida

March 10th, 2011

Big plays are all this kid is about.  One clip after another involves Cunningham catching a ball for big yards and hurting the defense in some big way.  Cunningham is long on height, long on speed and long on determination.  He’s a tough assignment for a defensive back on a team that presents a load of challenges for any secondary.  Choosing to double cover him only means someone else is going to cut you deep.  Putting your best cover man on him only means he will be less confident about himself when the game is over and there’s another game he needs to play next week.  Cunningham can take the short throw and make it into a disaster for the defense or he can go long and rob a cornerback of his dignity.   It’s a fun video to watch.  Click here to view Jordan Cunningham’s highlight video.

3/09/11: Video of the Day: Deon Bush – DB – 2012 – Columbus H.S., Miami, FL

March 9th, 2011

The South has had a reputation of producing safeties in recent history and that tradition is being continued with this prospect.  Columbus HS made a lot of noise in the Miami high school football scene last year and Deon Bush played a big part in that.  This talented prospect has come across the desk of many Division-I football programs this off-season and that is likely to continue.  Bush brings nice size, speed and intensity to the table.  He’s one big play just waiting to happen for the defense.  Watch him roam the field,  make big hits, interceptions, cause fumbles and much more.   If you enjoy secondary play then this is the primary video for you to watch.  See what everyone’s talking about with this highly sought after athlete.  Click here to view Deon Bush’s highlight video.

3/07/11: Video of the Day: Dwayne Stanford III – 2012 – Taft H.S., OH

March 7th, 2011

If you are into big wide receivers and gross mismatches then this is the video for you.  Stanford, measures in at a height reserved for guys who play on the line at 6’5″ but the problem for defenses is that he moves like a guy that is 5’10″.   Needless to say he’s a big time mismatch every Friday night for the guy lined up in front of him and the guy lined up over the top of him and the other guy lined up inside of him.  Stanford is packed with athleticism and a great pair of hands.  Those two elements is all he needs to dominate but he also brings some intelligence to the game which makes even more of a nightmare.  One of the top wide receiver prospects for 2012.  Check out the film and watch the show.  Click here to view Dwayne Stanford III’s highlight video.

3/04/11: Video of the Day: Juwan King – LB – 2011 – Archbishop McCarthy H.S. , FL

March 4th, 2011

The 2011 class has passed for the most part but that doesn’t stop me from highlighting this prospect. He speaks to the insanity of recruiting.  Take a look at 30 seconds of this film and ask yourself how this kid is currently unsigned. Before you ask,  he has grades and a test score.   His video features big play after big play on the defensive side of the ball.  Tenacious blitzes,  devastating tackles in the flats, running backs stuffed in the hole, blocked punts and it goes on and on.  He’s a complete menace to offensive advancement.  At 6’1″ 205 lbs. possessing good speed and a track performer,  Juwan King should be on the board of any school who still has scholarships open.

3/03/11: Video of the Day: Macgarrett Kings – WR – 2012 – University School, FL

March 3rd, 2011

If you play defense,  put two hands on your jock strap because Kings will make you lose it.  The word versatile describes this athlete as he does many things on the field.  He can play running back, wide receiver, quarterback and eventhough his film does not show it,  he can play defensive back too.  Kings superball type quickness combined with great gridiron instincts make him a threat from anywhere.  He led University School in touchdowns as the Suns marched to the Florida State 2B championship game against Trinity Catholic.  One of the more entertaining highlight videos you will watch.  Click here to watch Macgarrett Kings’ highlight video.

11/16/10: Video of the Day: Dylon Leslie – Spalding Academy – Splading, NE

November 16th, 2010

Football is a physical game and Dylon Leslie subscribes to this theory.  It won’t take you long to figure that out watching his video.  42 seconds into the flick,  we have a headless horseman compliments of Leslie who’s hit fires the ball carrier’s cap some 10 yards away from the scene of the crime.  It doesn’t stop there though.  Clip after clip is Leslie administering punishment to those not wearing his colors.  He plays a rough and tumble brand of football and if you are not ready to mix it up then the plan should be to avoid his path.  It’s a joy to watch football played this way especially at the linebacker position.  Click here to view Dylon Leslie’s highlight video.

11/02/10: Video of the Day: Christian Kahler – QB – Enochs H.S. (California)

November 2nd, 2010

If you are into prototypes,  Christian Kahler is your kind of QB.  He’s Bradyedque in the pocket and passes the ball around to all players like a good offense is supposed to.  Kahler stands tall in the pocket, delivers the ball with precision and confidence.  He also has awareness and is nifty enough to side step a rush,  keep his eyes down field and hit the open receiver.  He can also roll out and throw on the run.  If you fall asleep he can pull it down and hurt your defense.  He plays taller than his 6’2″ frame.  He also has a live arm but can also hit the touch pass.  Great fundamentals that all quarterback purist will enjoy.  Click here to view Christian Kahler’s highlight video.

10/29/10: Video of the Day: Doug Cook – QB – University School (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)

October 29th, 2010

They’ve been described as fun to watch and QB Doug Cook is the emcee of the University School Football party that rides into town and puts up points on the scoreboard like Vanna White turns consonants on the Wheel of Fortune.  Cook can do it all from throw the deep ball to the comeback, to the screen pass to pull it down and run for the first down.  Cook manages the #1 rated offense in Broward County, Florida and he does so with precision and efficiency.  Check out his mid season highlight video and watch him cut up defense after defense trying to put the brakes on their high octane offense.  Click here to view his highlight video.
