Willie Gault still Blazing in the 40 and 100 meter dash

There have been many articles posted on this site regarding speed, 40 times and 100 meter times. The topic of speed is always an interesting one for sports fans and most notably football fans. With that in mind, I came across some startling piece of information the other day. Former Chicago Bear and Oakland Raider Willie Gault who is now at the ripe old age of 48, just laid down a 10.80 100 meter dash at the Mount Sac Relays in California last month. W T F !!!!

At the age when most of his former NFL mates are reviewing their NFL disability plans and making frequent trips to the physician to keep them walking straight, Gault still has the speed to beat a NFL corner on a fly route. Gault is the current record holder for the 100 meters for men over the age of 45 after laying down a 10.72 in Indianapolis in 2006. That is absolutely unbelievable. Using track and field grading tables, Gault’s 10.80 at age 48 is the equivalent to a 9.76 for a sprinter in his prime. To make you even more sick, Gault ran a 21.80 200 meters in the Indianapolis meet in 2006 and if that didn’t make you throw up, Gault clocked a 4.27 forty yard dash last year. That officially makes him an enigma.
