December 9th, 2010

The Florida High School Athletic Association released it’s new football classification assignments for the 2011 season.   The biggest change has been the changing of classification labeling to now have class from 1A-8A.   Of note in Class 8-A,  Miami Columbus no longer has to deal with the likes of Miami Northwestern and Central.  Their biggest challenges coming from the South will be South Dade, Cypress Bay, Deerfiel Beach and Miramar.   There are a host of changes in the classifications and districts.  For a complete look at the new classifications,  visit the FHSAA website,  click here.

Teddy Bridgewater and Friends Rip Hialeah Miami Lakes 54-23

October 1st, 2009

I remember a time when Dade County football scores often had finals like 12-6 or 14-12. With the coming around of 7-on-7′s, the discovery of the passing game in and around South Florida, scoring 12 points will get you, to quote Emmit Smith “completely blowed out”. Check out highlights of Northwestern’s 54-23 drubbing of Hialeah Miami Lakes last weekend courtesy of the Miami Herald and RecruitFlix.com:
