November 20th
Central (Miami, Fla.) quarterback Jeffrey Godfrey has passed for a Dade County career-record 6,543 yards. The previous record was 6,365 by Miami Northwestern star Jacory Harris.
Florida Head Coach Urban Meyer and defensive coordinator Charlie Strong were in attendance to see Jeff Luc play for Treasure Coast vs. Seminole Ridge in a playoff game last night. USC was also in attendance. Luc is reluctant to name a leader but I will proclaim the Gators to be the current leader for Luc’s services.
November 18th
University School (Davie, FL) Dwellie Striggles became the third player from the school to commit to a Division I program when he chose Turner Gil and Buffalo. Striggles was also being recruited by Colorado St. and Rutgers. View his highlight video - click here.
Palmdale H.S. (California) defensive back and Gridironstuds.com member Joshua Shaw has committed to Florida. Shaw is also being recruited by LSU, Miami, USC, Ohio St. and Notre Dame.
Elder H.S. (Ohio) Tight End Alex Smith has rescinded his commitment to Cincinnati. Smith is still being recruited by Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
November 17th
Tennessee has dismissed two of the three players involved in the armed robbery attempt at a convenience store last week. Head coach Lane Kiffin issued walking papers to Nu’keese Richardson from Pahokee H.S. in Florida and Mike Edwards of Glenville H.S. in Cleveland, Ohio.
- On a side note, one of the attempted robbery victims says the players should be allowed to play. Hilarious must read, click here. Things are rough out in Knoxville, son. LOL!
Woodberry Forest linebacker Aramide Olaniyan has committed to UCLA. Olaniyan first committed to Duke but backed off that commitment and reopened the recruiting process. After his recent visit to Westwood, Olaniyan felt like UCLA was the place and committed.
Recent quote from Northwestern High School (Miami, Fla) top rated wide receiver recruit Michaelee Harris “I really like all the playmakers that Miami has,” said Michaelee Harris about the Canes. “They have a good offense and they always produce good athletes. I think they’ll be getting back on top soon.” Harris says he grew up following the Hurricanes. “I like coach Randy Shannon and (wide receivers) coach Aubrey Hill. We talk a lot and have a real good relationship off the field.”
Recent quote from Miami Northwestern High School (Florida) highly recruited running back Corvin Lamb: “I was supposed to visit North Carolina this week,” Corvin Lamb said. “But I don’t think it’ll happen. I’ll probably take it after the season. UNC and Mississippi State stay in touch the most. They show a lot of interest in me. They both said that I could play receiver and running back and that they’d use me on special teams too.”
Kaiser H.S. (California) outside linebacker Josh Shirley enjoyed his second visit to Arizona recently. His first visit was to Washington back in September. Shirley has a lot of schools on his list but I am guessing he lands in Westwood playing for the Bruins.
November 16th
Culver City H.S. (California) linebacker and Gridironstuds.com member Victor Burnett has committed to Washington. Burnett is also being recruited by Arizona, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon St. and West Virginia.
Rumor has it that St. Thomas Aquinas H.S. (Florida) Offensive lineman Brandon Linder will commit to the Hurricanes today (Monday).
Pahokee H.S. (Florida) wide receiver Chris Dunkley was injured in his squad’s big “Muck Bowl” contest this past Saturday.

Glenville H.S. (Ohio) safety Latwan Anderson and cornerback Christian Bryant are set to visit Michigan St. this weekend. Anderson is considering West Virginia, Ohio St., Miami and Michigan St. Bryant has over 30 offers and is considering Michigan St., Ohio St. and Tennessee.
State of Michigan high school players Devin Gardner, Dior Mathis and Earnest Thomas all need big performances and wins this weekend in order to get their teams into the playoffs.
Michigan still recruiting former Duke commit Aramide Olaniyan from Woodberry Forest High School (Virginia).
Palm Beach Central cornerback Peniel Jean had a great visit to Wisconsin last weekend. Many project Jean as a safety but Wisconsin who has zero cornerback commitments for Class of 2010 like Jean as a cornerback. Jean is also considering Connecticut and Maryland.
Pahokee H.S. (Florida) wide receiver DeJoshua Johnson looking to take a trip to North Carolina despite remaining a solid commit to Florida St.

Woodberry Forest School (VA) linebacker and Gridironstuds.com member Aramide Olaniyan has decommited from Duke. Olaniyan is being pursued by Clemson, Florida St., Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, North Carolina, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. Can’t say that I am surprised by this. Once Olaniyan committed to Duke, it seemed that a host of offers started coming his way. There’s little doubt that these other programs had a field day ripping Duke’s football history. The Blue Devils’ 1-2 start did not help either especially the 44-16 loss to Kansas on Saturday.

Gridironstuds.com member Cody Riggs (St. Thomas Aquinas H.S., Florida) is closer to making a decision. Notre Dame, Georgia, Tennessee are the front runners. More on this later.
Gridironstuds.com member Chris Dunkley (Pahokee H.S., Florida) says he’s not committing any time soon so we should all just cool our heels.
Gridironstuds.com member Aramide Oliniyan is in Notre Dame today. You have to wonder if his Duke commit will hold up after this trip.
Gridironstuds.com member Jeff Luc (Treasure Coast H.S., Florida) has planned a second college tour with Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss and Southern Miss being among the schools he will visit.
Timpview H.S. (Utah) safety and Gridironstuds.com member Chris Badger has switched his commitment from Stanford to Notre Dame after being “blown away” by his visit to South Bend.
Stanford soothed their pain from the Chris Badger loss to Notre Dame by securing a commitment from Hamilton H.S. (Arizona) safety Devon Carrington. Carrington also has offers from California, Arizona, Arizona St., Washington, Washington St., Oregon, Notre Dame and Northwestern.
Notre Dame commit and Gridironstuds.com member Lo Wood plans to graduate in December and arrive in South Bend in time for spring football.
Recruits, prospects, let this be a lesson to you. Grade troubles leads to release from scholarship for 2009 USF signee Kamran Joyner. Full story.
Less than one week after securing a commitment from Gulliver Prep (Florida) QB Michael Strauss, Tulane has secured a second QB commitment from New Iberia H.S. (Louisiana) Taylor Bullock. Bullock is a dual threat QB with a 4.6 forty yard dash to his credit. The three year starter was not concerned with Strauss’ commitment “There’s going to be competition wherever you go,” he said.

Evan Berry 13 year old brother of Eric Berry has committed to wait for it…. wait for it.. . Tennessee. Go ahead and tell me you are stunned by this.
4-02: Video of the Day: Aramide Olaniyan - LB - Woodberry, Virginia
Posted by Chad Wilson in Video of the Day on April 2nd, 2009
Today’s Video of the Day comes from the great state of Virginia which has produced it’s fair share of NFL football players. It’s our first video of the day from this state but certainly won’t be our last. Guys like Aramide Olaniyan are the reason why the long count was invented. Even with that tactic being used by offenses facing Woodberry Forest High School, Olaniyan still gets into the backfield and makes play after play after play. I don’t think I have seen a film this season where a player has made so many plays in the backfield and caused so many lost yards. Olaniyan’s burst off the line and quickness has surely made quite a few offensive coordinators drop F-bombs. The junior recorded 27 tackles for losses inlcuding 13 sacks in 2008. He recently shunned offers from the likes of Michigan, Tennessee, UCLA and Auburn in favor of Duke because they offered the best academic program. Here! Here! Watch Olaniyan destroy offensive blocking schemes and play designs. Aramide Olaniyan’s highlight video.
Prep Star Olaniyan Chooses Duke

Chooses the Blue Devils over Other High Profile BCS Schools
By: Chad Wilson
Holding true to his word that academics were going to play the biggest part in his college decision, Woodberry Forest School, VA linebacker Aramide Olaniyan committed to the Duke Blue Devils while attending their junior day event this past weekend.
Olaniyan’s speed and strength combined with his play making ability attracted some of the biggest football factories in the nation. Top historical football schools like Michigan, Auburn, Tennessee and UCLA all offered scholarships to the 6′2″ prep star but he shunned them all in favor of Duke because of academics.
“I will either major in economics or political science,” said Olaniyan. “I have always wanted to be a lawyer.”
When faced with the offers that Olaniyan had, it is not typical for Duke to come out ahead. This is a testament to Olaniyan, his parental upbringing and the new energy infused into the Duke football program. Former Tennessee assistant David Cutcliffe is going the extra mile to make Duke a factor in the college football landscape. That’s good news for Olaniyan who hopes to get the best of both Worlds at Duke.
“”It would be great if we (Duke) could get some more great guys on board for next year,” said Olaniyan. With four commits already for the Duke 2010 class it appears that Olaniyan could be getting his wish.
Olaniyan may still take trips with some teammates out West to UCLA and Stanford but both he and his parents are still solid on a Duke education. Olaniyan has amassed 22 sacks from his linebacker spot over the last two seasons. He is 6′2″ 201 lbs, runs a 4.51 forty and reports a 495 lb. squat. Scout.com has him rated as a 4-star recruit.
