Rumors and Wires: Week of June 1, 2009

June 6th

Westlake H.S. (Atlanta, GA) cornerback Darius Robinson has added Clemson to his list of 22 schools that have offered him a scholarship.  Robinson will visit the University of Miami on June 13th and is featured in a great article in the Gridironstuds.blog.  Read it here.

Charles Henderson H.S. (Troy, AL) athlete Jawara White is due to make his college decision on Monday.  White has narrowed things down to Bama, California, Arkansas, FSU, Florida, Auburn, Mississippi, Southern Miss. UAB, Troy, LSU, Tennessee (of course), Kentucky.  Well maybe he hasn’t narrowed it down but he will make a decision on Monday.  We will keep you posted.

June 5th

Scripps Ranch H.S. (San Diego, CA) running back Brennan Scott Clay has committed to Oklahoma. He also has offers from Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, Stanford, USC and of course… Tennessee (who doesn’t?)

Pahokee wide receiver DeJoshua Johnson has Florida St. at the top of his list. Bama, Miami, Oklahoma St. and Tennessee are the other teams in the running.

Pahokee DT Richard Ash has Gators in the top spot. Ash has offers from all over SEC plus Michigan, West Virginia and a host of others.

As expected, Stanhope Elmore athlete and Gridironstuds.com member Demarcus Milliner committed to the University of Alabama.

Top rated Lakeland H.S. (Florida) athlete Jarred Haggins has named his favorites chools as Florida St., South Florida, Louisville, Ohio St. and Tennessee. His top two are Ohio St. and Florida St.

June 4th

Cretin-Denham H.S. (Minnesota) top recruit and Gridironstuds.com member Seantrel Henderson has narrowed his list of 50 offers down to the following 10: Minnesota, USC, UCLA, Ohio St., Florida, Florida St., LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma and Iowa. Henderson also has basketball offers from Marquette and St. Louis. Henderson has expressed his love for basketball.

Miami Northwestern Guard Torrian Wilson has named his Top 5 as the following: Miami, Tennesse, Stanford, Michigan and Alabama.

Agoura H.S. (California) and Gridironstuds.com member Lucky Radley has been offered by Iowa St. Radley also has offers from Arizona, San Diego St., Utah, Eastern Michigan and Utah St.

Madison H.S. (Texas) linebacker Kris Catlin has committed to Oklahoma St. He also has offer from Texas A&m, Illinois, Houston, Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Colorado and Arizona.

While due to make his announcement tomorrow, top rated QB and Gridironstuds.com member Jake Heaps apparently will choose BYU as his school tomorrow according to the Seattle Lake Tribune.

Pleasant Grove H.S. (Utah) QB and Gridironstuds.com member Dallas Lloyd has committed to Stanford.

Stanhophe Elmore H.S. (Alabama) athlete Demarcus Milliner is set to announce his choice on Thursday. I am expecting a Crimson Tide commitment here.

Crenshaw H.S. (California) athlete Hayes Pullard has been offered by Notre Dame. Pullard is also being recruited hard by both USC and UCLA.

June 2nd

Temple Texas RB Lache Seastrunk says his recruitment is still open but his recent actions and comments at Auburn’s Big Cat Weekend suggest that he’s going to be an Auburn Tiger. Seastrunk drew the attention of Bama fans when he said before large pro Tiger crowd “Nick Saban is S.O.L.” and “What’s up Nick Saban?” Those sound like the words of a guy who’s made his mind up already. Big time Byrnes H.S. (South Carolina) RB Marcus Lattimore who was an attendee at Big Cat Weekend has named his top Eight. Prior to attending “Big Cat Weekend” Lattimore had Auburn as his leader. Surprisingly, after attending, Auburn is no longer his leader but they are still amongst his top teams. Here are Lattimore’s top eight: Auburn, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida St., Bama, Penn St. Clemson and Maryland.

While attending the Pahokee vs. Boyd Anderson Spring Game last Friday, University of Miami recruiting coordinator Clint Hurtt extended and offer to defensive back Raheem Buxton on the spot. The 6’2″ Buxton ran around making plays and looked quite athletic. He nabbed an interception in the first half of the contest.

Top rated DE and Gridironstuds.com member William Gholston names his top nine as: Ohio St., USC, Tennessee, Miami, Florida, Alabama, Michigan, Michigan St. and Oklahoma. Says he has no problem leaving the state to go to college.

Max Preps names St. Thomas Aquinas H.S. (Ft. Lauderdale) their preseason #1 team in the country. South Carolina Byrnes H.S. is ranked 2nd. The two teams meet on October 2nd.

Michigan Wolverines land big time Avon Lake (Ohio) OG Christian Pace. Pace was also considering Florida St., Stanford, Pittsburgh, Michigan St., Iowa, Illinois and Colorado.

Gridironstuds.com member Teddy Bridgewater from Northwestern H.S. (Miami) has stated that Georgia is his early favorite.

Gridironstuds.com member Darius Robinson has now reached 20 offers with the latest from Michigan St. and Washington.

Auburn examining whether they racked up some recruiting violations with their “Big Cat Weekend”. Full story.

Speaking of Big Cat Weekend, top rated Texas RB and Gridironstuds.com member Lache Seastrunk called it the “best ever.” Said he really felt at home at Auburn but was not canceling out any school and is still open in his recruiting.

Miami Hurricanes have made a scholarship offer to Cherry Hill H.S. (New Jersey) quarterback Joseph Brennan. Brennan also has offers from Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Iowa, Wisconsin, Stanford and Louisville.

Pahokee H.S. Richard Ash has named his top six as Florida, Florida St., Mississippi, Tennessee, West Virginia and Minnesota. The Gators are tops on his list.
