By now you should know that Jeff Luc is a beast on the football field. There is much evidence that he will hit you if you are carrying the football around and when he hits you it’s with serious intent. You already know that he hunts down quarterbacks and makes them scream out like a chick in a horror flick. You are well aware that he will dig a running back’s feet out of the ground and lay him on his back like a Miami Beach tourist trying to get a sun tan. However, not many people expect a 6’1″ 240 lb. hulk of a teenager to get out and run around in coverage at a 7-on-7 tournament.
Oh yes, Jeff Luc can cover receivers too. He displayed that skill at the Nike Camp at the University of Miami earlier this year and has done so at several 7-on-7 events this off season. Luc, once again, put his athleticism on display for all to see at the recent Sling and Shoot 7-on-7 event at the University of South Florida.
Check out the video clips below courtesy of Rivals. They show Luc amongst others doing their thing at the tournament:
Chad Wilson is a college football recruiting expert and creator of the GridironStudsApp which allows high school football players to gain exposure to college football coaches and fans. Wilson is a former college football player for the University of Miami (92-94) and Long Beach St. (’90-’91) and played briefly for the Seattle Seahawks (’95). He is also a former youth and high school football coach for over 15 years most recently for 5-A State of Florida Champs American Heritage. He runs All Eyes DB Camp a defensive back training company located in South Florida IG: @alleyesdbcamp. Wilson’s oldest son Quincy plays in the NFL for the New York Giants and his younger son plays cornerback for the Arizona Cardinals.
Good job Luc! Looks like you proved the naysayers wrong on your coverage skills. I knew that wouldn’t be an issue. Man I really hope you choose to come back home to Miami on signing day because Randy Shannon has us moving in the right direction on and off the field.
