Brandon Linder Commits to “The U”

The University of Miami 2010 recruiting class is getting near full capacity but they just got a commitment from a much coveted prospect. Highly recruited St. Thomas Aquinas offensive lineman Brandon Linder made his pledge to Miami on Saturday to bolster the Canes’ recruiting class.

Linder has been as impressive an offensive lineman as there has been in his class. The 6’6″ 290 lbs. behemoth has been a starter on one of the nation’s most regarded programs for three years. As a sophomore, Linder was the starting center on a St. Thomas team that won the Florida St. 5A championship. As a junior, Linder moved to the all important position of left tackle and was in charge of protecting the backside of former Aquinas quarterback Ryan Becker as St. Thomas opened up their offense. This season, Linder anchored the men in the trenches and led Aquinas to the state semi-finals.

The pick up is huge for the Hurricanes who are looking to bolster their offensive line play and become even more explosive under the direction of offensive coordinator Mark Whipple. Linder becomes the sixth offensive line recruit to commit to Miami in an area of focus. Linder now becomes the highest rated offensive line recruit to commit to Miami thus far at 4 stars (Scout.com).

The Hurricanes still have their eyes on #1 ranked overall recruit offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson out of Minnesota and word is that Henderson has boiled it down the Miami and USC. Landing both Linder and Henderson would shoot Miami near the top in the 2010 class rankings for those of you who care about those things.

………….. . ………….. . …………….. . …………… . …………..

Linder will be joined at Miami by his St. Thomas Aquinas teammate Jermaine Barton.  Barton is a three star rated recruit by Scout.com.

  1. down to USC and Miami? what, did two guys at miami and usc tell you that? Ohio State is his leader, and Minny still has a good shot. Miami has no shot, it’s a nice free winter vaca.

  2. Why do fans get so emotional? Was it necessary for me to be called dumb? I am reporting the information from my sources. You are reporting from your emotions. Most would much rather rely on where I am coming from. Thanks for visiting the site.

  3. Miami is a no player for Henderson, it is down to OSU, USC, and UF. He will announce on NSD. Henderson isn’t even sure if he will visit UM with his last visit.

  4. Time will tell. I guess we’ll see. I will stick by my sources. I try not to fight over the intentions of 17 year olds because it can change in a heart beat. Again, thanks for visiting gridironstuds.com.

  5. He is on UF’s campus, thats way more than Miami can say. He has also visited USC and OSU and I believe ND but ND has dropped down his list.

  6. ‘Preciate the inside info dude. Really like the Gridironstuds site and layout.

Ignore all the haters and the faux insiders from UFag and OSU*.

  7. The site is ran by a Miami guy so I know it will have biased towards them. Also not a “UFag” (kinda lame insult) or OSU guy. Just someone who really knows recruiting very well. Henderson is leaning towards OSU, but likes USC and has been offered to play BBall and Football at UF. He really likes that and he’s on their campus.

  8. “Really knows recruiting well”…

Bro please. You don’t know jack. You’re just guessing just like 90% of the faux insiders do all over the net. You have no sources, and you most certainly don’t know the kid personally.

Find me a quote from the kid. Until then, your just posting just for the sake of — posting. Lets just keept it real here…

  9. No, I don’t know him personally. I know many recruits personally and many of those guys talk to him regularly. To keep it real I am just saying a guy who isn’t sure if he will even visit a university can’t have said university in his top two when he has visited other. I remember being recruited, wasn’t that long ago and I would never have gone to a school I have not seen in person.

  10. Isn’t sure of visisting? You need to check your facts. Seantrel Hendernson is 100% slated to vist Miami on the 29th of Janurary, a week before national signing day. He has already set that as his last official.

  11. We will see if that sticks…. Highly doubt he keeps that visit so late. Haven’t heard of that date yet but I will have to ask around…. You guys are really touchy aren’t you

  12. touchy? I think they are just trying to help you with your facts so that you are informed. He is slated for a visit on that date. The fact that you don’t know that should give you a reason to pause a little bit… Do some research.

  13. to “sources?”- he’s going to miami that late because it is the week of the pro bowl/super bowl in miami. the u is bringing a lot of its top targets to campus that weekend to show off the school and everything thats going on in town. you really don’t know jack

  14. And now he is back pedaling because he got owned….”Touchy” lol.

Had the the nerve to call out the dude who runs this site dumb, because of some recruting info & speculation.. Yet that’s exactly what he’s doing, with MUCH less concrete info. Ha, too funny. Try not to come of as a tool and gets your facts in order next time you try to call someone out.

  15. Word is Henderson was offered to play BBall and football at Miami.

    1.) Last visit + Dad’s coming
2.) He called Miami the day after they beat OU
3.) Miami coaches have already visited him at home
4.) It’s the weekend before the superbowl, he will be in the best weather he can be in.

I’m not saying he is going to UM, but it could definitely happen

  16. I think he is a long shot to come to Miami, but who knows what goes on in the minds of HS kids? Miami has some really good OL coming in and he could be part of a dominating front for four years
