2/11/10: Video of the Day: Chandler Kincade – Blackhawk H.S. (PA)

February 11th, 2010

As was reported on this site and everywhere else last week,  USC accepted a commitment from a 13 year old quarterback named David Sills from Delaware.  Well,  if you are into that kind of thing then USC and some others may have wanted to look at this prospect.  Chandler Kincade is 14 years old,  in 8th grade and has a bright future as a QB.  Standing 6’4″ and 195 lbs.  Kincade is a specimen and unlike most 14 year olds that size,  Kincade has control of his limbs.  The 14 year old displays great command, poise and control.  He looks like a polished quarterback and as good a prospect or even better than Sills.  Seeing is believing so watch Chandler Kincade’s highlight video,  click here.

2/10/10: Video of the Day: JaJuan Story – Nature Coast Tech H.S., FL

February 10th, 2010

There are athletes and there are specimen. JaJuan Story is both. At 6’4″ 185 lbs and running a 4.3 forty, Story will be the story in the 2010 season and in the 2011 recruiting class. Story’s numbers are what college coaches die for. Not only that, Story takes those numbers and all of his athleticism and puts it to use. Story averaged 32 yards per catch in 2009 and also rushed for over 250 yards and 9 yards per carry. He’s just a big play waiting to happen. This came on a team that was loaded with other talent. Included in Story’s exploits was a 91 yard receiving touchdown. The potential just oozes off the screen when you watch Story’s film. Watch JaJuan Story’s highlight video, click here.

From the Mailbag: What Gridironstuds.com Can Do For You

February 7th, 2010

2009 Was Gridironstuds.com’s first year in existence and what a year it was.  Over 700 video submissions were made on our site.   Submissions were made from Florida all the way out to Hawaii and there were even international highlight video submissions as several Canadian high school football players found Gridironstuds.com.  2009 also saw a little known linebacker named Jeff Luc become a national sensation after posting his video on Gridironstuds.com.  With zero offers on the table when his brother Alex Luc posted his now famous highlight video,  Luc was launched to the #1 player at his position and acquired offers from colleges coast to coast.  Gridironstuds.com also played an instrumental part in making outstanding Ohio safety Latwan Anderson a recruiting sensation.   Gridironstuds.com covered a lot of ground and did a lot to get high school football players recruited and that’s what we set out to do.

I wanted to share with you just a couple of the emails that I have been getting from some of our Gridironstuds.com members.  If you are a high school football player and want to play college football.  Gridironstuds.com is where you need to be:

FROM the Mailbag:

Things have moved well as a result of your help with Patrone. I will be sending you a full report soon as well as a formal letter of thanks for your records

Patrone Wood
Ygnacio Valley, CA

Thanks for the gridiron exposure.

I signed a letter of intent to continue my education and football at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida.
Gridiron is the greatest.  I am now on a mission to take my game to another level.   ‘Stay tuned”

Trevius Folston
Melbourne, FL

Gridiron Studs, pleased to inform you that Robbie Zauck-LB/DE from Ocean City (NJ) has verbally committed to the University of New Hampshire.  Without your site my son would not have the opportunity he was given from all the colleges he was recruited from.  Thank you so much for your wonderful site.

Robert Zauck
Seaville, N.J.

Hey Mr Wilson loving the sight  you’re really doing a great job with it!

2/05/10: Video of the Day: James Ross – Orchard Lake St. Mary’s – Michigan

February 5th, 2010

There’s some violence going down and James Ross has something to do with it.  From the first clip on his video,  Ross keeps your eyes frozen to the computer monitor.  The first guy lost his cap and the violence continued.  Ross will thump you and it becomes clear as you view the footage that he enjoys playing football.  Ross sits up in the box waiting for the collision and hoping that they run the ball to his hole.  He’s what high school linebackers are supposed to be and he’s out to make the other team wish they hadn’t crossed his path.  If you like defense then you will be entertained by Mr. Ross exploits on the field.  With many Big-10 teams on his trail,  he has the potential to become a national recruit as we enter the 2010 season.  View James Ross’ film,  click here.

Uh Oh Kiffin Strikes Again! Another 13 Year Old Commits. This time to USC

February 5th, 2010

The Man has obviously read books by Madonna and Dennis Rodman. On National Signing Day when colleges in the Top 5 to 10 usually get the brunt of the attention, new USC head coach Lane Kiffin made sure that USC got more than their fair share of publicity when he accepted a commitment from another 13 year old football player.

David Sills from Delaware, who has been described as a quarterback prodigy by Steve Clarkson, spoke with Kiffin on National Signing Day and pledged to the Trojans (his dream school) for the year 2015 (Isn’t that the year Buck Rogers is supposed to return to Earth?). Undoubtedly, this move has brought some attention and I am only aiding and abetting by posting a story here but you gotta love Kiffin. He’s in the right town, real close to Hollywood, where grabbing headlines is the foremost industry.

As rare as this whole situation may seem, believe it or not, it’s not the first time that Kiffin has had a 13 year old commit to him. Back in June of 2009, Kiffin secured a commitment from 13 year old Evan Berry from Georgia. Berry is the younger brother of NFL prospect and Tennessee Volunteer Eric Berry. I wrote a story on it then “Oh Yes, it’s True, Tennessee Football Secures Commitment from 13 Year Old. It seems that wherever he goes, 13 year old football players love Lane Kiffin and Kiffin can’t ignore the spotlight. I’m not hatin but I’m just sayin.

There’s a lot of hurdles that lay ahead for both Evan Berry and David Sills on their journey to National Signing Day in the year 2015. There’s the impending crush on Miley Cyrus, the girlfriends at school, the competition on the football field, injury, global warming, etc. However, when 2015 finally does arrive Sills and Berry can rest easy that they have a place secured while their classmates frantically run around trying to secure their futures. I for one can’t wait to roll up my wheelchair, pop in my dentures and watch them doing their thing.

2-02-10: Video of the Day: Mario Sanders DL – Greer H.S. (S.C.)

February 2nd, 2010

Watch Mario Sanders and the word disruptive comes to mind.  Perhaps Sanders can be blocked but no one on his tape seemed to know how.  His physical make up and skill set has allowed him to dominate on the high school gridiron and it also makes him a strong candidate for future success at the next level.   Sanders slips blocks, blows up running backs and terrorizes quarterbacks.  Sanders also pursues from sideline to sideline and even sniffs out screen plays.  You can expect him to be a top prospect with interest already coming from Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Duke and Virginia amongst others.  View Mario Sanders’ highlight video click here.

2/01/10: Video of the Day: Drew Harris Jr. – Downington East H.S., PA

February 1st, 2010

Look out there’s a train coming through!  Downington East High School sophomore running back Drew Harris conjures up thoughts of Adrian Peterson the minute you click on the video.  The Class of 2012 running back has an awesome combination of size and speed.  At 6’1″ 195,  Harris has the size to run over you.  With sub 11 second speed in the 100 and 4.48 speed in the forty,  Harris can run by you.   He does all of these things on film and should make a college football scouts mouth water.  Watch him gobble up yards of turf  like a lawn mower as he makes defenders look silly.  Definitely a top prospect to watch for the next two seasons.   Watch Drew Harris Jr.’s highlight video,  click here.
